Updated Jul. 29th, 2024
Let’s put some mojito-style fun into your plain old Jane water with this delicious infused combination! This trio of mint, cucumber and lime will not only taste good, it also scores straight A’s when it comes to your health. With the citrus giving your immune system a daily boost, aiding in digestion, freshening your breath and even helping to aid in weight loss - we bet you didn’t think a glass of water could do all that!
- Dairy Free
- Sugar Free
Ingredients:
| ½ cucumber, sliced | 3 fresh mint sprigs | |
| 1 lime, sliced | water |
Directions
- Cut your cucumber and limes into slices or wedges.
- Take out your favourite glass jar that has a sealed lid; mason jars work well!
- Fill the jar with all of the above ingredients.
- Add in your favourite water; tap, ionized, reverse osmosis, spring etc.
- Seal the lid tight and place in the fridge – water should mull together over night to ensure all the flavours are unlocked.
Make It This Way
Add a little bit of colour to your water by adding in some cut watermelon. This will also give the water a little taste of sweetness. If you’re not a fan of limes, try using half a lemon and half a lime as a compromise – it is you who has to drink it after all!
Try This
Turn it into a spritzer! Adding a bubbly aspect makes this a great way to quench your thirst on a hot summers day without all the sugars. Simply use sparkling water or club soda instead of regular water, and only allow to sit for 30 minutes before enjoying!

Mint and lime is such a classic flavour combination! This mint and lime zest infused water would be the perfect replacement to a cocktail if you were not drinking alcohol and still allows you to have similar flavours to cocktails but without the alcohol or added sugar. Lime, cucumber, and mint are also so refreshing so this is perfect for the warmer months when you want to sit out in the sun and still be well hydrated! Great idea and recipe, thanks for sharing!
Hello,
Indeed, this is such a refreshing combination that will keep you hydrated and a great way to switch it up when you're tired of plain water.
This recipe is something similar to what I see being done in conferences and parties quite a bit and for a very good reason-it is a simple and natural way to add flavor to water without adding sugar or artificial sweeteners. I personally hate when this is the only water option because I try to avoid exposing my teeth to unnecessary acidity as much as is possible but I definitely understand the bit of acidity and the flavor from mint adding a nice bit of refreshment to the day for people :)
