ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS
What Are Combination Essential Oils?
Essential oils are plant extracts made by steaming or pressing various parts of a plant (flowers, bark, leaves and/or fruit) to capture its essence – hence the name. Essential oils have been used extensively throughout ancient civilizations worldwide in myriad applications, including personal care, healthcare practices, religious ceremonies, beauty treatments, and food preparation. Essential oils are also an integral part of aromatherapy. They can be found individually or as essential oil blends that are already mixed to offer a pleasant scent or health benefit.
While using single essential oils is undoubtedly a good way to go if you are using a diffuser or adding a few drops to a carrier oil for massage or skin care applications. In fact, blending essential oils multiplies the benefits and can significantly improve results. However, this takes a keen eye and considerable experience to identify suitable oils that offer the specific properties you're looking for. This is where combination essential oils come in.
Combination blends are safe, effective, and ideal for getting started with essential oils and aromatherapy. In a nutshell, combination essential oils feature mixtures of specific essential oils that have been selected to work synergistically for a particular therapeutic purpose. These oil blends are typically prediluted, so they are ready to use, according to the label instructions.

Benefits Of Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy uses essential oils that activate the smell receptors in the nose, which send messages directly to the brain’s limbic system. The limbic system is responsible for everything from emotions to memory, learning, appetite, and sex drive. Inhaling essential oils or essential oil blends stimulates different responses in the body, such as breathing patterns, blood pressure, and heart rate, among many others. As such, aromatherapy is ideally suited to addressing a wide range of mental and physical issues, such as relieving pain, improving focus and concentration, calming the mind and relieving anxiety, promoting restful sleep, aiding digestion, and many others.
Selecting A Quality Combination Oil Blend
To ensure you purchase a quality essential oil blend, look for one that mentions it is 100% pure and that the carrier oil is as well. Make sure that there are no additives. You should ideally select a blend that is certified organic and NON-GMO for optimal purity. In addition, try to choose a combo that isn't manufactured via a chemical process, which can dilute or contaminate the essential oil, reducing its efficacy and fragrance. Last but not least, quality essential oil blends should be packaged in amber- or dark-coloured glass bottles to extend shelf-life and prevent the oils from going rancid.
