About Trophic Dessicated Liver
Trophic Desiccated Liver is a synergistic formulation of defatted cow's liver, bromelain and citrus bioflavonoids. Our desiccated (dehydrated) liver is prepared using the lowest possible heat to retain maximum nutrient content. Desiccated liver tablets from Trophic are an excellent dietary supplement for children and athletes. Rich in vitamins A and B and minerals such as iron, zinc as well as protein. Evidence indicates that liver contains a number of unidentified growth factors. Citrus bioflavonoids are valuable in the prevention of physical stress and capillary damage. This is especially beneficial to bodybuilders and athletes. The presence of bromelain, a potent enzyme from pineapple, ensures complete digestion.
Bromelain
The stem of a pineapple contains bromelain, which is very helpful for protein indigestion, inflammation, arthritis and sinusitis.
The bromelains are a group of naturally occurring protein-digestive (proteolytic) enzymes. They are found in the stem of the pineapple. Other components of the stem, including various enzymes and calcium, are also present in commercial bromelain preparations.
Besides being used as a protein digestive aid, the enzymes in bromelain inhibit inflammatory chemicals called prostaglandins. The anti-inflammatory effect has been studied for its effectiveness in inflammatory conditions like arthritis and sinusitis.
In order to get substantial amounts of bromelain from pineapple you must eat the fibrous stem, therefore it is much easier to use a supplement form. Bromelain can be purchased in capsules. Enteric-coated capsules limit the use of bromelain in food digestion. They have been studied, with mixed results, for anti-inflammatory conditions. Bromelain is found as a component of digestive, multi-enzyme or anti-inflammatory formulas. Supplements should be standardized as an assurance of the enzyme activity of the preparation.
Do not take bromelain if you have active stomach ulcers, active bleeding, hypertension or cardiovascular disease. Bromelain should not be used with blood thinners, NSAIDs or aspirin. Discontinue bromelain 2 weeks prior to dental work or surgery.
Vitamin B12
B12 is a water-soluble B vitamin. Deficiencies of B12 may not be seen for several years because the body can store up to 5 years worth of this vitamin. There are several forms of B12 including cyanocobalamin and methylcobalamin. B12 is required in areas where there is high cell turnover, for example the gastrointestinal tract, bone marrow and nervous system. Thus B12 has been used for the treatment of neurological diseases like multiple sclerosis and depression.
Anemia is a lack of the oxygen carrying ability of red blood cells. B12 regulates blood cell production, with folic acid. Lack of B12 leads to types of anemia where the red blood cells look too large, macrocytic, under the microscope. Supplementing sublingually with B12 reverses this type of anemia. B12 is required for digestion, fertility and the normal growth and development of all cells. It enhances learning and memory, and normalizes sleep patterns.
All of the B vitamins work together and are best used by the body in a B complex, which is why many B complex supplements include a small dose of B12 in them. Most B vitamins are water-soluble and any extra from large doses is flushed out of the body easily, therefore it's best to take lower dosages of the B complex several times a day than one larger dose. Spray or sublingual forms of B vitamins are easily absorbed, as are capsules - if your digestion is healthy, then the tablet form is usually suitable for most people.
