Homemade Kebabs with Goat Tzatziki
Updated Jul. 27th, 2017
Kebabs. Skewers. Meat on a stick. No matter what you call it, there is one thing for certain – everyone will love eating these for dinner. While they are surprisingly easy to make, this dish definitely delivers on bursts of flavour. Pair these kebabs with some roasted potatoes or ditch the forks altogether by serving them as an appetizer – they’re great for serving at parties, if they even make it out of the kitchen!

Ingredients:
| tzatziki | ||
|---|---|---|
| ½ cup goat milk yogurt | 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice | 1 teaspoon white wine vinegar |
| ½ english cucumber, seeded and diced | 1 garlic clove, minced | ¼ teaspoon sea salt |
| 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh dill | 2 teaspoon extra-virgin olive oil | freshly ground black pepper, to taste |
| kebabs | ||
|---|---|---|
| 1-1.5 lb. extra lean ground beef | 1 large egg | ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon |
| ½ small onion, peeled and coarsely grated | 2 cloves garlic, minced | ¼ teaspoon sea salt |
| ¼ cup blanched almond flour | 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger | |
| ¼ cup dried currants | 1 teaspoon ground cumin |
Directions
Turn your oven to 350F and submerge six skewers in water
Tzatziki:
- Start by slicing your cucumber length-ways and using a spoon to remove all the seeds. Using a sharp knife, dice and chop into tiny pieces.
- In a small bowl, combine your cucumbers and all other ingredients – stir well. Cover and place in the fridge until needed.
Kebabs:
- In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. To thoroughly mix, use your hands and mash everything together.
- Still using your hands, portion out the meat into six servings. One at a time, grab a skewer and start molding the meat around it. For best cooking results, the meat should be roughly 5 inches in length. Repeat until all the meat is gone.
- Place each skewer onto a lined baking sheet, and place in the oven to cook for 25-30 minutes. To be on the safe side, use a thermometer to test the internal temperature to ensure its fully cooked before serving hot!
Make It This Way
If you’re not feeling beef for dinner, try swapping it out for any other ground meat – we love the idea of using pork or turkey for an even leaner meal.
Try This
Use your extra tzatziki sauce as a cool dip for some fresh cut veggies – it makes the perfect snack that even kids will enjoy!

This recipe for homemade kebabas with goat tzatiki is a great recipe for a dinner idea that is not too hard to make and can be completed within a reasonable time and who does not like a quick and easy dinner solution? I love how this can be versatile and you can swap out some ingredients with others while still maintaining the same flavours and recipe! I also love how this includes dill, such a great flavour that goes well with so many things.
Hello,
Indeed this is a great recipe that packs a lot of flavour. The dill in the tzatziki is really fresh, not many recipes use dill. Enjoy this one!
Goat yogurt it awesome. It is very distinctly flavorful. For something like tatiki, this really matters. Tatziki from Greek resturants, made with whole milk, is divine, and when the milk used is goat milk, the rich, creamy, and flavorful put-it-on-everything dip is absolutely divine. And, this is my opinion as someone who is plant-based!!! That said, you can accomplish a similar effect with a good vegan "goat"cheese melted into creamy cashew yogurt. I will have to look into if there is a vegan goat yogurt. I bet that caprylic cid could help with it!
